day 3

Today we learned about where water goes. We had 5 groups of people tell us about water in Dayton and how it’s purified and where it comes from and where it goes. The first group told us about their jobs working at Dayton water how much they are paid and how difficult there job is. Basically they make a good amount of money it’s a lot of testing water and they get really good raises yearly. The next group was people who work to test the water for bad things they told us about the tools they use as well it was pretty cool. Then the 3rd place we went to was a girl who talked about the history of are water system. The 4th place was these guys and they have robotic cameras they put down pipes to find breaks and that was fun and I learned a lot. The last place we went was the river mobile and they taught us the process the fact that are water comes from an aquafer stuff like that. Over all I had a lot of fun and learned a lot who new water could be a really good job and actually fun. The rest of my day was just lunch working on blogs and some yoga or meditation it was really fun and I’m thankful I had an opportunity to learn about the people of Dayton who work with our water it makes me appreciate it way more there basically water super heroes.

day 4 kayaking
Today we went kayaking and boy was it an adventure. We got on the bus to get to the kayaking place, it was very cold so everyone was dressed in layers which that will come to play later. It was really fun for the first half we got are kayaks I got a really pretty light blue one. So we got in the river it was really nice because it was shallow so if u fell in you would be ok. I do admit it was very cold until the sun started shining. So everything was going smoothly I was having fun with my friends chilling out until we got to one part of the river which was rapids I’m talking if you’re on the left side of the river you’re done. And that’s exactly what happened to me. I got stuck on a rock tried to get out then I went straight into a tree flipping me over and cutting my leg. I was ok it was shallow enough I got out with my paddle and everything my other friend flipped twice and she lost her paddle. It kind of sucked at first but then it was great for problem solving on how to get the other kayak and see if we can find the other paddle. On this trip me were supposed to try and learn how to listen better and even thought I flipped I think I learned how to work together and get through it. So over all I think I learned a valuable lesson to listen to each other and you will make it through because I did. The rest of the day we just chilled and then I took a 3 hour nap when I got home so it was a good day I am glad I did it even though it kind of sucked at some parts.
